Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SnapFrames ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services. By using SnapFrames you agree to this Policy.
Information We Collect
- Contact details: If you subscribe for updates, submit a bug/feature request, or enter beta access, we collect your email address, MakerWorld username, and any content you submit.
- Technical data: Basic log information such as IP address, browser type, and device, as provided by our hosting/analytics providers for security and diagnostics.
- Local storage: We use local storage to remember preferences (e.g., UI settings, unit selections, access tokens) and to improve your experience.
How We Use Information
- To provide and improve the site and frame-generation features.
- To communicate updates you opt into (e.g., product announcements).
- To respond to bug reports and feature requests.
- For analytics, security, and abuse prevention.
Generated Content
When you use our generation tools, we store the resulting images, textures, and materials and associate them with your account so you can find and reuse them later. We may review generated content to operate, secure, and improve the service.
By generating content on SnapFrames, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store it and to feature or include selected generated designs in the product — for example, as built-in presets, curated showcases, or community galleries — to help other users discover designs. Designs you publish to the community are shared through an explicit sharing action and may display your chosen name. We will not publish content you have deleted, and you can request removal at any time using the contact options below.
Data Storage
We use third-party infrastructure providers to host the site and store data submitted through our forms. We apply reasonable safeguards designed to protect submitted information and limit access to authorized operations. External links (e.g., MakerWorld, Thangs) are governed by those sites' policies.
Advertising
We run ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram to help people discover SnapFrames. To keep that useful rather than annoying, we may share a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address with those platforms so they can match it against their own records. Hashing means the platform never receives your actual address.
The main reason we do this is to stop showing ads to people who already have SnapFrames. If you have bought access or backed the project, we would rather not spend money advertising it back to you, and you would probably rather not see it. We may also use it to reach people whose interests look similar to our existing users.
We never sell your information, and we do not share the designs you create for advertising. If you would rather be left out of this entirely, contact us using the options below and we will remove you. You can also control ad personalization in your settings on those platforms.
Retention
We retain submission data only as long as needed for the stated purposes or as required by law.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data. You may also object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the contact options available on the SnapFrames website.
Children
SnapFrames is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page.
